Cornus capitata: Cornus is the Latin name for the Cornelian Cherry (
Cornus mas);
capitata, growing in a dense head.
Small scale tree, often with an irregular habit.Foliage is somewhat duller green, and leaves are much narrower than C. florida. Showy 'petals' on flowers are actually bracts, or modified leaves. Greenish-yellow true flowers are perfect, in a tight rounded head.Succulent, red, raspberry-like fruit.
